Accountant - West Kelowna

My client, a lovely West Kelowna  Hotel Property, is currently seeking a qualified Accountant to work in their offices.  Reporting to the General Manager, my client is seeking someone to be responsible for the hotel's accounting and financial Management duties, and to Manage the Accounting department, the procurement function and the electronic data processing systems of the hotel. The Accountant 's responsibility is to provide the General Manager with timely information on the status of the hotel's performance, assist with cost containment, revenue enhancement ,  profit improvement opportunities, and to safeguarding the company's assets.

Primary duties entail:
  • Records Management
  • Financial reporting
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Data Processing
  • Cashier duties
  • Purchasing
  • Accounts payable & Receivable (Collections when needed)
  • General Ledger, Journal entry, Trial Balance,
  • Payroll
  • Financial analysis
Required skills include:
  • Hotel experience (nice but not necessary)
  • 4-5 years experience working in an Accounting/Bookkeeping capacity
  • Post-Secondary education with a strong Accounting focus
  • Must have worked with an Accounting software, Accpac is ideal
  • Outside of the box thinker & desire to make recommendations to enhance performance
